At Monega we believe that assessment is central to everything we do.
Historically we have used the pre 2014 National Curriculum levels to assess our children and report to parents. With the introduction of the new National Curriculum 2014 and the removal of levels we are in a period of transition to our new assessment model.
As a staff we are working on a model of assessment that works for Monega. We draw on the expertise of our staff and we follow the guidelines as outlined by the NAHT (National Association of Head teachers) in their Commission on Assessment. We are also working in partnership with other schools, the local authority and experts in this field.
We will continue to assess pupils’ progress and attainment and give feedback to pupils and parents. We will also continue to report attainment at the end of EYFS, the Phonics Screening results in Year 1 and end of Key Stage 1 and 2 formal assessments.
From September 2015 all pupils will be assessed under our new model of assessment.
