Wear Your Jumper For Charity!!
We, at Monega, decided to raise money for the ‘Save the Children’ charity on Friday the 12th December along with the rest of the nation.
The School Council members have been deciding over the last couple of months which charity to support. It was suggested that we could raise money for ‘Save the Children’ and we thought it was a good idea.
We then went back to our classes and discussed it with them as to whether we should do it. All classes agreed as it was a good idea as we were helping others instead of ourselves. We particularly choose children because we could help them when they are still young.
To promote our idea for raising money for the charity we had to advertise the event by putting up posters. We spent our lunchtimes designing and creating our posters – only the year 6 School Council representatives made posters. Having made them, they were placed around the school to ensure everybody knew about it.
Everybody was asked to wear a Xmas jumper or non-uniform and donate £1 to charity for doing so.
All the children were very excited and they turned up in lots of different designs of Christmas jumpers – they were amazing! Some even made their own design on their jumper from what they had been taught by their art teacher.
Photographs were taken of many of the jumpers so that we could show them to everyone around the school.
