Dear Parents/Carers,

Our school has formulated a return to school plan that prioritises the safety of all pupils, families, staff and our wider school community.

Government guidelines state that schools should welcome back all primary pupils in September 2020.

In order to ensure that we can meet all of the requirements set out in the guidance, we need to be flexible in our approach and make sure that we stagger re-entry to allow safety procedures to be established.

Following a detailed risk assessment, we have decided on the schedule of opening below:-

Date

First Day Back

Thursday 3rd September

Years 3, 4, 5 and 6

Monday 7th September

Years 1 and 2

From Wednesday 9th September

Reception and Nursery pupils will be invited back by letter.  Please only come to school on the date stated in your letter

Arrangements on Arrival

  • School gates will open at 8:30 am
  • Soft start - children will not line up in the playground. They will go straight to their classes. During drop off and collection, parents must adhere to social distancing guidance and follow the floor markings that will ensure social distancing.
  • Parents must not approach classroom doors. Parents should maintain distance when approaching staff members.
  • Only one parent/carer can escort a child whilst on school premises. We are encouraging all KS2 pupils to enter the school gates independent of an adult.
  • Strict hygiene safety rules will be taught to all children on their return.
  • Only one parent/carer can enter the school office area at a time.
  • Pupils must bring a water bottle.
  • School will finish at 3:00pm for all pupils. Parents must stand in the allocated spaces, which are at a distance, when collecting from the playground.
